We went to our daughter's house yesterday for dinner. My cousins had just flown in from Alaska with the two year old son and were staying with our daughter and son-in-law for a week. These are the decorations she had up at her house. We'll be going back there for dinner tonight and trick-or-treat with our grandson and his little cousin! Open door~Window Views and Doors, Too 102110
This shed was right next to a pasture of horses and sheep and, of course, I couldn't resist checking it out. It is right across the street from the Ranch Cafe, near Olancha, CA, where the Crystal Geyser bottling plant is located on Highway 395. Upon closer inspection, I discovered that it was an OUTHOUSE! ACK! Apparently it hasn't been used for some time (thank goodness!) Window Views and Doors, Too for October 21, 2010.

Billboards for Sunday Stills Challenge 101010
Ugh. I HATE billboards. I avoid taking photos of them. So, this week's challenge was "billboards". Well, golly gee! The cities around here don't have any and they are prohibited in the cities. So, off to the "netherlands" I went. I spent Friday afternoon driving around the freeway and a couple of side roads. I actually found these out by the DUMP, on Palm Drive, near Desert Hot Springs. I mean, WHO wants photos of billboards? Oh, well. Here they are. Sunday Stills Challenge for 101010.

Sunday Stills~Mexican bird of paradise~100310
This week's challenge was red and green in the same photo. I have noticed all the Mexican bird of paradise plants in bloom right now and this one is right across the street from my house! Notice the red and yellow blossoms and the beautiful green foliage! I bought one of these early this summer, but it gets too much shade and mine isn't blooming. These LOVE full sun and lots of heat, so they are perfect desert plants! Sunday Stills Challenge for October 3, 2010.
