Little Colorado~Outdoor Wednesday~March 16, 2011

Past the Grand Canyon, to the east, and along the highway, lies the Little Colorado. And, another side canyon is there. If you drive to Cameron, this canyon is just east of the Grand. Several Indian craft markets line the road, but, even in this recession, many of them were closed and vacant. I was driving when I drove by this spot and I slammed on the brakes, backed up, parked the car, and hiked down to this spot on the road. This canyon is quite impressive by itself and if you have a chance, be sure you stop and explore it! Outdoor Wednesday for March 16, 2011.

That is gorgeous. I didn’t see that when I was there--certainly worth seeing though--next time.

Good thing you stopped and took a photograph of the Little Colorado. Adventures are fun for sure. Happy St. Patrick's Day.

At first glance it looks like a big hole in the ground. It is amazing how tall the walls of the canyons are. We spent 3 weeks on Lake Powell checked out every canyon we could fit in. Sure can make you feel small
