Textures~Sunday Stills Challenge~021912

This week's challenge was textures, so as I was walking around the local park this morning, I spotted some palm trees and went closer to investigate.  Palms are so interesting~just LOOK at the textures!  One time I spotted a raven fly into one of these palms and deposit something...maybe it had a nest there?  Sunday Stills Challenge for February 19, 2012.

Desert after the storm~SkyWatch Friday~021712

I took a drive home this afternoon out by the Indio Hills because our recent storm was clearing out and the mountains of Joshua Tree National Park were covered with snow.  Instead, I looked the other direction and found this smoke tree amid the lingering clouds.  The desert was so clean and sweet-smelling that I just had to get out and look around.  SkyWatch Friday for February 17, 2012.  To visit SWF, please go to: http://skyley.blogspot.com/

I drove out Thousand Palms Road last evening.  There were only a few high clouds in the sky and the full moon was high in the sky.  As I drove down the road, this is what I saw.  Sunday Sunset for February 5, 2012.
