Yellow shrubs~Mellow Yellow for 101209

I took this pic when we were in the Alabama Hills, near Mt. Whitney, this past weekend. The fields there were covered with it. We went looking for fall colors and these were in full bloom and they dotted the landscape. I don't know what they are...anybody know? I caught these in the early morning light. Mellow Yellow for Monday, October 12, 2009.

Beautiful color, I would have to guess some type of Goldenrod but it's hard to tell. Whatever it is it makes a great MYM shot.

Have a great week.

It's rabbitbrush, Wiki lists two genus that have this common name and I don't know which this is. When we lived in the Owens Valley the hunters would get excited when it bloomed because that indicated hunting season was comming.
