Early yesterday morning, I went for a walk around both the Palm Desert Historical Society garden and the visitor center garden. It was an overcast day, cloudy and gray, so I decided to try out the macro feature on my Canon. Hubby showed me how to use it, and here are a couple of sample photos. Cactus Monday for December 20, 2009. OUCH! Don't touch!

They almost look unreal..... love those spines!
HCM!
Beautiful example of that cactus. Looks like white stars on it.

I love the spines-they look like some wicked S and M corset thingie. I don't know where my mind is today.
Zowie! What a terrific capture...so clear and precise...OUCH! HCM! :)
I've always liked cactus. Your macros look great. Since I moved away from California I don't see many cactus or palm trees.
I'm from AK so I don't see many real cactus but I've seen some fake ones and I always thought "they look so fake", but now I realize they actually looked quite real! I had no idea they really had white prickles like that. Very nice photography! HCM!
Beautiful shot! I love that cacti's prickilies! So perfect. I can't wait to check out all of the desert gardens out there to be seen. :)
