Indian ancestors Saturday, December 13, 2008 Andreas Canyon







Toward the end of our visit to Andreas Canyon, we spotted an area set aside for modern Cahuilla Indians to show how their ancestors lived. The Cahuilla used whatever they could from the palm trees for housing and for racks. These were put together by modern Cahuilla for the public to view.

Wow- it is so cool to see what Palms look like when they do not have the dead branches trimmed from them for many years! I can only imagine all the birds and other creatures making their homes in those huge beards!
