Indian ponies!







I know, I know...this is my desert blog! Well, these ponies were IN THE DESERT! So, ha, ha! I get to post their pics here!
These are Navajo ponies. Not really sure if they are considered wild. I don't think so. The Navajo let them roam on their lands. I did see some with brands. Maybe somebody can answer your question as to the Indian ponies?

Fozi, I'm not really sure if they are considered wild. They are Navajo ponies. They roam the Navajo land and I did see some with brands. They pretty much have the run of the land. There are several herds right off the rim at Canyon de Chelly. Some are more friendly than others. Some will let you approach them, but others run off. So, I guess it just depends on the horse. The foals were ADORABLE!
