Every once in a while, when we visit the Living Desert Reserve, in Palm Desert, the bighorn sheep are up on top of their mountain. We like to go early in the morning and this morning the keepers were just coming out with their hay. This bighorn was still up on top of the mountain and apparently hadn't heard the breakfast bell yet! SkyWatch Friday, March 27, 2009.

That's a great silhouette!
What a wonderful shot. I must be a beautiful place to visit. I enjoy seeing your wonderful part of the USA.
That bighorn sheep is so majestic looking up on the mountain. Great shot!
Spectacular - he looks as though he's greeting the day. Last spring, a Bighorn jumped from a cliff to the road in front of me when I was biking up the National Monument in CO. Unfortunately, my camera was in the bike bag.
Such a beautiful photograph....its simplicity is what makes it so special......
I've been hiking the mountains here in the Sonoran desert and if I ran into one of these I would be so excited...so for now I delight in seeing the various lizards that bask in the sunshine!
Great photo!!
Your sure lucky to be able to live right in the desert and close enough to the desert wild life far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday city life!
Makes me kind of homesick for the desert life.
Everytime I visit your blog, you take me into a different world! Thankyou!
They belong to someone? They're out there under someone's care? I wouldn't have any idea what lives in the desert & what wouldn't! Great photo
Great capture of the bighorn sheep against the clear blue sky.
