A spring afternoon in the desert. The hills are alive with blooming plants. The skies are clear and blue, the plants are blooming, the wind is calm. The next day it was so windy that my front fence blew over and my sunflowers were damaged! (see post below) Ahhhh....spring in the desert! It can be perfectly calm one day, but the next day can blow trucks over out on the freeway. We are still seeing dust in the atmosphere and sneezing more than usual! There was a beautiful sunset Sunday night, with all the dust in the atmosphere, but I couldn't grab my camera and drive at the same time! The days are warming up this week and we'll be in the 80's...great photo weather! That's My World for Tuesday, March 24, 2009.

Oh my, what marvelous photos. Thank you for sharing, I enjoyed the journey.
Spring in the dessert. Probably my least favorite season due to the wind. We're having a mild one in relation to wind this year, but even one bad day (and night, especially) makes me a little crazy. BUT, when it's nice,it's REALLY nice, as your photos give evidence!
Really beautiful photos of a lovely place! So nice to see some hints of spring!
Your part of the world is so diferent from mine- yours appears to be so hot and craggy and romantic! Do you get enough rain to help the flowers continue blooming? Happy Spring to you!
How wonderful that you found large areas of pretty flowers blooming. Too bad about the wind knocking over your fence and damaging sunflowers!
It is lovely to see the desert through your eyes.....the extremes of weather must be hard to adjust to at times, or perhaps you get used to it?
Get me there. I have a desire now to experience the desert.
The desert looks lovely in spring. Dust storms are unfortunately one of the facets of of living in the desert which are not so nice except for great photo effects.
