Yesterday was an absolutely beautiful day at Joshua Tree with temperatures in the 70's. That's quite a relief from the 90's here on the desert floor. There were thunderheads on the horizon and we tried to capture some photos of them on our trip through the park. This time we came in the JTree west entrance and exited through Sheep Road, to the north. This exit comes out above the Marine base at 29 Palms and you can see the base from the park as you descend into 29 Palms. We rolled down the windows and enjoyed the cooler air!

Sounds like perfect weather! The pictures are gorgeous!
My nephew is stationed at 29 Palms..if you see them roaming the desert ..give a wave..it may be him.

What a wonderful place! Looks just perfect!
Carol,
I ALWAYS smile and wave to the Marines! They are such wonderful, polite young men! I saw a convoy of them down in San Diego and a lot of cars were honking and waving to them (near Camp Pendleton). We didn't see any of them on Sunday, up in JT, however. I would like to return up there many times this summer! Joshua Tree and 29 Palms have some interesting photos waiting to be taken!
