This statue is at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. The fort is only 15 miles from the Mexican border. We were there several years ago, in summer, but while the desert was hot, hot, hot, it was refreshingly cool at the fort. That's because it is located up in the foothills, at the base of the Huachuca mountains. I remember reading that the fort survived because it had an excellent water supply. I did see many cottonwoods there and it had a lovely afternoon breeze. I love the spotted clouds in the sky! SkyWatch Friday for May 1, 2009.

I love this statue & the sky is so beautiful behind it!
Thanks for sharing this, it's gorgeous.
That beautiful sculpture looks great with the blue sky and clouds in the background.
Love the statue...pointing to the blue sky! I find the southwest has the bluest sky even if there are clouds! I spent my winter in AZ!
That IS a great sky!
